Hi there! My name is Sarah Kurpiel. I'm a librarian by day and picture book maker by night and weekend and odd times in between. I'm a self-taught illustrator. Drawing has been a passion of mine since I could first pick up a crayon. And while I still draw with crayons from time to time, these days I make my final illustrations digitally in Photoshop.
My stories are inspired by animals, nature, and everyday life. I hope my work brings a bit of happiness into the worldand a bit of disability representation too. I use a power wheelchair and consider my disability an important part of my identity.
My debut picture book, Lone Wolf, was published by Greenwillow/HarperCollins in May 2020.
